COLUMBUS — With just four weeks until National Letter of Intent Day, business is certainly picking up in the 2015 recruiting class as Torrance Gibson will apparently be taking an official visit to LSU the weekend of January 23, per a report by Ryan Bartow of 247Sports.

Gibson (Ft. Lauderdale, FL), who committed to Ohio State in November, played in the Army All-American Bowl this weekend and has been rumored to possibly be visiting Auburn and UCF as well.

Given the pending loss of offensive coordinator and quarterback coach Tom Herman, as well as the amount of depth currently at quarterback for the Buckeyes, it is not a surprise to see Gibson looking around at other options.

Even though many schools recruited Gibson to play wide receiver, he is intent on playing quarterback, which is one of the main reasons why Ohio State was so attractive to him.

LSU is an interesting candidate for Gibson, as they landed one of the nation's top quarterbacks in the 2014 class in Brandon Harris and many expect him to be starting next year as a true sophomore.

There is also the example of Russell Shepard, who was a five-star dual threat quarterback in the 2009 class. He signed with Les Miles and LSU as the No. 2 player in the nation and never threw a pass for the Tigers, moving to receiver upon arriving on campus. He caught 58 passes in his four-year career.

The Buckeyes currently have two quarterbacks committed in the 2015 class, with Ohio's Mr. Football Joey Burrow (The Plains, OH) joining Gibson as the other. Burrow himself was also playing in a high school All-American game this weekend.
