COLUMBUS, Ohio – It was a special year for the Ohio State Buckeyes. After an unexpected loss in week two, the Scarlet and Gray responded by running off a nation-best 13 game winning streak on their way to the programs first National Championship since the 2002 season.

Along the road to the title, the Buckeyes overcame enough adversity that players stated a movie should be made about this team. Heisman Trophy contending quarterback Braxton Miller was lost just 10 days before the season. His more than suitable replacement, J.T. Barrett, fractured his ankle during the Michigan game and missed the postseason. OSU players lost a teammate just days before their rivalry game, as walk-on offensive linemen Kosta Karageorge was found dead.

After questions began to creep up about Urban Meyer, the coach captured his first championship as the head coach at Ohio State with a win over Wisconsin in the Big Ten Championship Game and followed that with two more trophy-winning games. The Buckeye seniors earned their first title since arriving on campus as well, something that had loomed over this class all season.

It was a special year and there is a unique thread that ties this season together like a bow. Looking back at the 2014-15, the number three wraps into nearly everything Ohio State accomplished this year, making this the season of threes for the Buckeyes.
