J.T. Barrett Named B1G Offensive Player of the Week
By Tony Gerdeman

COLUMBUS — The Big Ten announced on Monday that Ohio State quarterback J.T. Barrett has been named the B1G Offensive Player of the Week for his performance against Bowling Green.

Despite an interception on his second pass of the game, Barrett went on to tie his own school record of six touchdown passes in a single contest. He also added a rushing touchdown, which set a new Ohio State record for touchdowns accounted for by one player in a single game.

All told, Barrett completed 21 of 31 passes for 349 yards with five touchdowns and an interception. He also rushed six times for 30 yards and another score.

This was Barrett’s fifth offensive weekly award from the Big Ten and, coupled with seven freshman of the week awards in 2014, gives him 12 weekly honors from the Big Ten.
