Ohio State received a verbal commitment from arguably the top two-way lineman in the nation on Saturday when Brooklyn prospect Matthew Jones (Erasmus Hall High School) offered up his pledge to the Buckeyes. The commitment was first reported by Alex Gleitman of 247Sports.

The commitment now gives Ohio State the top class in the nation, moving ahead of Miami.

A 4-star prospect, Jones (6-4 315) is rated the No. 4 defensive tackle in the nation and the No. 46 player overall per 247Sports, but Ohio State is reportedly looking at him as as interior offensive lineman.

Jones is the top prospect in the state of New York, and earned First-Team All-State honors as a junior. He attends the same Erasmus Hall High School that produced former Buckeye Curtis Samuel, as well as chess champion Bobby Fischer, the guy who played Ralph Malph on Happy Days, and the doctor from The Love Boat.

Jones was visiting Ohio State this weekend. He committed to OSU over offers from Alabama, Clemson, LSU, Florida, Penn State, Michigan, Miami, Tennessee, and Rutgers.

The Buckeyes now have 14 commits, and Jones could be considered the second offensive lineman in the class. He joins 4-star Tennessee offensive tackle Max Wray up front for OSU.

We will have more on Jones' commitment later. For now, you can check out his highlights.
